Terms and Conditions

These terms apply to registration, payment, cancellations, refunds, and personal data for Conexão classes.

The wording below is based on the existing English terms already used by the school, with payment information folded into the same page.

Registration

To join the forró classes in Brussels, you first need to fill in the registration form on the classes page.

By registering, you accept these terms and conditions.

Payment

Payment should be made by bank transfer within seven days of registering.

If payment is not received within seven days of registering, we will make your place available to other students.

Account name: Conexao ASBL

IBAN: BE67 3632 0479 1187

BIC: BBRUBEBB

Communication: First name + Last name + Level X + day of the class

Replace X with 1, 2 or 3 depending on your level.

Reservation of Your Place

Your place is only reserved once payment has been received. Some levels may reach full capacity, so we recommend paying as soon as possible to guarantee your place.

Late Payment

Payment must be made to confirm your place. If payment is not settled by the fourth week of the trimester, an additional administrative fee of €20 will be charged. If you register after the start of the trimester, the four weeks are counted from the date of registration or your first attendance in class, whichever comes first.

Flexibility and Advantages

Catching Up on a Class

If you miss a class and would like to attend another class instead, please contact Sarah to see what options are available. Options may vary during the trimester depending on the groups involved, including balance of roles, progression of the group, and differences in level.

Flexi-Trimester

If you cannot join for the full trimester, there is a flexi-trimester option available which entitles you to 7 classes and is valid for one trimester.

When your seven classes are used up, you can continue to attend. You will be contacted at the end of the trimester to request payment for any additional classes followed. Flexi-trimester holders receive a discount on the per-class rate: €12 per class instead of €14.

The flexi-trimester pass is valid for a single level on a specific day. If your specific circumstances mean a more flexible approach is required, please contact Sarah by email to discuss this. Exceptions cannot be guaranteed, but where possible they may be considered as long as this does not risk having a negative impact on other students.

Starting the Classes

Initiations and Open Doors

Free initiations or Open Doors classes may be organised in the run-up to a trimester.

Participation in an initiation or Open Doors class does not guarantee a place for the trimester. Places are only reserved upon receipt of payment, and some levels may reach full capacity for leaders, followers, or both roles in advance of or shortly after these classes.

To guarantee a place for the trimester, you can register and pay in advance of the initiation or Open Doors class. You then have 48 hours after the Open Doors class to notify us by email if you do not wish to continue with the trimester and your payment will be refunded in full.

Joining During the Trimester

With some prior knowledge of forró: it may be possible to join a course during the trimester depending on the current composition of the group, including size and balance of leaders and followers. Send us an email in advance and we will arrange for you to attend a class and advise you on the most suitable level.

There is no free trial class available for students who start during the trimester. All classes should be paid for. This does not include the first class if you are allocated to a higher level.

Without any prior knowledge of forró: you can join Level 1 up to and including the third week of class. After that, you must already have some knowledge of the basics before joining the group, so as not to hinder the other students' learning. Send an email to ask about the possibilities, such as introduction workshops, private classes, or initiations.

There is no free trial class available for students who start during the trimester. All classes should be paid for.

Cancellations, Changes, and Refunds

Cancellations

You have 7 calendar days after registering to change your mind, cancel your registration, and receive a full refund of any payment already made. If you have already attended a class other than a free trial or Open Doors class during those seven days, the refund will be pro rata.

Once this period is over, cancellations or refunds are not accepted except in the situations described below.

Refunds

Payments can be refunded or transferred only in the following cases. In any other situation it is not possible to be reimbursed for missed classes or to transfer them to another trimester.

Following an initiation or Open Doors class: you have 48 hours after the class to notify us by email if you do not wish to continue with the trimester and your payment will be refunded in full. This applies even if the initial registration was made more than 7 days earlier.

For administrative reasons: if you register and pay for a level before receiving notification that the level is full, you will receive a full refund.

If a group is too small, we reserve the right either to cancel the group or to merge it with another one. If you decide to move to the new group, you have the right to cancel within 48 hours after the first class in the new group. If you decide not to switch groups, your payment will be reimbursed minus any classes which already took place in the group that was cancelled.

For medical reasons: if you can no longer attend the rest of the trimester for serious health reasons, you can request a refund of the remaining classes. Please send a short explanation and a doctor's note covering the entire period of absence.

If you miss three or more consecutive classes during a trimester for serious health reasons, you can request that the amount corresponding to your missed classes be transferred to your payment for the next trimester. Please send a short explanation and a doctor's note covering the entire period of absence.

Procedure

In all cases requiring a refund, the following procedure must be respected.

  • Request the refund by email at info@conexao.be.
  • Include all corresponding information: name, level, reason for the refund request, bank account details, and any supporting documents such as a doctor's note when required.
  • You will receive a reply within 7 days. If the refund is granted, the money will be transferred within the following 14 days.
